Head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, 46, is leaving PSV Eindhoven.
PSV announced on their official website on Thursday, “Coach van Nistelrooy has informed us that he will leave PSV on Wednesday morning. A meeting between the board of directors and coach van Nistelrooy took place on Tuesday (23) regarding internal issues that have arisen in recent weeks. At this meeting, we decided to focus on Sunday’s match against AZ Alkmaar and continue to talk after the end of the season.”
“Coach Van안전놀이터 Nistelrooy made his thoughts (resignation) known this morning (24th), saying that he no longer felt there was enough support within the club to continue. The players and staff were immediately informed and Fred Rutten will assume the role of head coach on a temporary basis. We regret Van Nistelrooy’s decision but thank him for winning the Dutch Super Cup and cup competitions.”
Van Nistelrooy was an in-demand striker who played for PSV, Manchester United, and Real Madrid during his career. He had dreams of becoming a manager at his hometown club, but his career came to a premature end.
