Spurs, weren’t you all-in on the slot? 4 cases vs. 1 case

Tottenham Hotspur has prepared a list of four backup candidates in case the club fails to hire Arne Slott as manager, according to British media.

“Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has prepared a list of four candidates in case Slott’s appointment falls through,” the Express reported on Nov. 23 (KST).

Slott, 스포츠토토of Feyenoord in the Netherlands, has been heavily linked with the Spurs job in recent weeks. Slott led Feyenoord to their first Dutch league title since 2017. He has emerged as the next Spurs manager.

According to the Express, Brighton’s Roberto De Jervi, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, Fulham’s Marco Silva and Celtic’s Enzi Postecoglou are in the running.

Silva said of the Tottenham speculation, “I’m not going to comment. You can’t control what is written outside, whether it’s a manager or a player. There is nothing for me to say. As you know, I have one more year left on my contract with the club. I’m happy here,” he concluded.

Postecoglou, who led Celtic to the top of the league, has also reportedly been in contact with a number of clubs besides Tottenham. Brighton and Everton have also expressed interest.

Tottenham’s managerial search has been ongoing for two months now.

Spurs announced the parting of ways with Antonio Conte on March 26. Chelsea fired Graham Potter a week later than Tottenham, but they had their next manager in place sooner. The Blues have been in talks with Mauricio Pochettino for some time now and are only waiting for an official announcement.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have been surrounded by rumors about Pochettino, as well as Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, and Vincent Kompany. Slott is one manager who has emerged from the lull.

Tottenham had a similar struggle in 2021. After firing Jose Mourinho, they spent two months searching for a new manager, eventually signing Nuno Santo, who wasn’t a priority. Santu lasted less than six months before being fired.

To avoid repeating the same mistake, a quick decision is needed. Slott is reportedly a big fan of Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola. Like Guardiola, he plays fast-paced soccer. He seems like the kind of manager Tottenham should get.
