The Ball Park coach Choi Won-je, who is in charge of personal hitting coach for Ha-seong Kim (San Diego Padres), confidently said, “It’s going well as planned. You can expect much better results next year.”
Kim Ha-seong, who made his major league debut last year, recorded a batting average of .202, 54 hits, 8 homers, 34 RBIs and 27 runs in 117 games. Based on the experience of last year, it was a step up this season. He played in 150 games, batting 2.5, 1 Lee, 130 hits, 11 home runs, 59 RBIs and 58 runs scored.
As a shortstop this season, Kim Ha-seong showed off a stable defense by digesting 1092 innings and recording 8 errors. He was named one of three finalists for the National League Gold Glove shortstop category. Unfortunately, he failed to win the award, but his defensive skills were recognized enough to be included in the Choi Chong nomination.
Looking back on this season, 토토 Kim Ha-seong said, “I had a good opportunity this year, and I did my best in the midst of that, and I got good results. I think this experience will be of great help to me in baseball in the future.”
He continued, “Last year, there were a lot of regrets, so this year, we invested a lot in defense before the season. There are many things to improve on,” he added.
Kim Ha-seong, who returned to Korea via Incheon International Airport on the 2nd of last month, started personal training at The Ball Park Korea in Gangnam-gu, Seoul with coach Choi Won-je from the 12th.
In a phone call with OSEN on the 19th, Coach Wonje Choi said, “Haseong Kim started individual training on the 12th. The focus is on improving the movement of the lower body and the trajectory of the swing, and it is going well as planned. You can look forward to it,” he said.
He added, “When I first met him, I felt like I was less technically established, but I gradually improved my level of perfection. I have enough time and my understanding of the swing is much quicker. As I experienced the big leagues for the past two years, my confidence has grown. I think I will do well.” .
Coach Won-je Choi said, “Ha-seong Kim lost weight rapidly in the second half of the season and had difficulty managing his condition, so we changed the training method so that he could maintain his weight as much as possible.
