A pair of Louisiana State University (LSU) pitching aces have swept the first and second rounds of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

Louisiana State University right-handed pitcher Paul Skins and outfielder Dylan Crews, both 21, were selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Nationals, respectively, with the first and second overall picks in the 2023 MLB First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday.

This is the first time in MLB Draft history that players from the same university have been selected first and second overall.
