‘I was taken by ambulance… ‘ Female Jung-gu Moon Hye-kyung, dramatic Taegeuk mark

Indeed,
it was boarding at the end of a thousand years of hard work. Moon Hye-gyeong (26, NH Nonghyup Bank), a representative of Korean women’s soft tennis (tennis), confirmed her participation in the Asian Games for the second time in a row after recovering from an injury.

Moon Hye-kyung participated in the women’s doubles final of the 3rd round of the soft tennis national team selection event held at the Sunchang public playground in Jeonbuk on the 3rd, and won the championship together with Lim Jin-ah (21), a junior from her team. Lim Yoo-rim (Gyeongnam Sports Association) and Lee Cho-rong (Okcheon-gun Office) beat the game score 5 to 1.

Following Lee Soo-jin and Ko Eun-ji (above, Okcheon-gun Office), who won the second game earlier, they will wear the Taegeuk mark. Moon Hye-kyung and Lim Jin-ah lost in the quarterfinals against Lee Su-jin and Ko Eun-ji in the second game, but won the third game and dramatically joined the national team.

Initially, Moon Hye-kyung was considered the main player of the national team. Moon Hye-kyung, who won the women’s team event and mixed doubles silver medal at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, won the mixed doubles gold medal at the 2019 Taizhou World Championships.

However,
with the national team selection right around the corner, bad news struck. During the women’s singles quarterfinals of the ‘2023 International Soft Tennis Championships’ held in Okinawa, Japan on the 10th of last month, she suffered a ligament rupture injury in her left ankle. Hyekyung Moon, who sprained her foot, fell down for a while and couldn’t get up온라인바카라, and she was taken by ambulance to the hospital. It was unclear whether she would participate in the national team selection event, which starts on the 26th of last month.

Moon Hye-kyung, however, overcame her injury and was selected for the national team. Head coach Yoo Yeong-dong of NH Nonghyup Bank and the women’s national team said, “I participated in an international competition to improve my sense of practice ahead of the national team selection match, but I was very sorry to be injured.” I’m going to play,” he said, sweeping his chest.

After the game, Moon Hye-kyung said, “I trained only for the representative selection, but after returning home from an injury two weeks ago, as soon as I took off the cast, I couldn’t prepare properly and felt sick, so my confidence dropped.” There was a lot of pressure,” he said, revealing his heartache. “But I didn’t want to disappoint as many people supported me, including my team, coach, coach (Han Jae-won), colleagues, and parents,” he said. I really want to wear a gold medal around my neck.”

This is the sixth national team selection. From 2016 to this year, Hyekyung Moon wore her Taegeuk mark every year except for 2020. Im Jin-ah was selected as the second representative following last year, and she said with a smile, “She was very nervous during the finals, but trusting her partner, Hye-gyeong unnie, and having fun and playing the game, better results came out.”

In the third round of men’s Lee Hyeon-soo and Kim Hyeon-soo unfortunately lost 4-5 to Yoon Hyung-wook and Kim Byeong-guk (above, Sunchang-gun Office) in the doubles final of the second round, but by winning the third round, they were able to wear the Taegeuk mark together.

It is an impressive selection. Veteran Lee Hyeon-soo won a silver medal in men’s doubles and a silver medal in the team event at the 2019 World Championships in five standing army careers in 2008, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2022. Kim Hyun-soo played only as a standing army number 4 in 2016, 2017, 2021, and 2022 before entering his first international competition. Both are their first Asian Games appearances.

Five men and five players will compete in soft tennis at the Hangzhou Asian Games in September. The remaining one each
will be decided in the singles selection event that ends on the 8th.
