Hwaseong U18 and Pohang Jecheol High School defeated Shinpyeong
High School in Chungcheongnam-do and Yeongdeungpo Technical High School in Seoul will face each other in the final of the National High School Football League.
Chungcheongnam-do Shinpyeong High School held the 78th National High School Football Championship and 2023 National High School Football League Wangjungwangjeon (co-sponsored by the Chosun Ilbo, Korea Football Association, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) with Hwaseong City U18 held at Changnyeong Sports Park in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam on the 27th. They won 4-1 and advanced to the finals.
Shinpyeong High School Jeong Ma-ho (junior) led the team to victory by scoring the opening goal and an additional goal. Jeong Ma-ho is a promising defensive midfielder who was called up to the U-18 (under 18) soccer team earlier this month. On this day, Jeong Ma-ho started as an attacking midfielder a little later in the front line, which was different from usual. Nevertheless, he showed a sharp pass and unstoppable shooting, embarrassing the U18s in Hwaseong City. Finally, in the 6th minute of the first half, he stole the ball from the opposing defender and scored the opening goal with a mid-range shot from two steps behind the penalty box. In the 17th minute of the second half when the score was tight 1-0, he received a pass from the front inside the penalty box and calmly scored an additional goal with his right foot.
Shinpyeong High School, which gained momentum with Jeong Ma-ho’s two goals, scored two more goals. Hwaseong City U18 had to be satisfied with a comeback goal two minutes before the end of the game. Shinpyeong High School coach Yu Yang-joon said, “It was effective to place Maho more aggressively than usual,” and “It was thanks to everyone working together only to win.”메이저놀이터
